Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The popular resale platform has updated its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.

Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Measurement Approach Changes

Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

A different member, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained.

Platform Context

The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
